RE: FIDDLE TOYS
Due to the significant rise in students bringing in ‘fiddle toys’, to use during lessons and the disruptive issues arising from them, we are implementing a whole school ban on them.
If a student does require the use of a ‘fiddle toy’ to help with focus and attention or as a physical aid, then we require a copy of a letter or report from a paediatrician, occupational therapist or physiotherapist, (although this is not an exhaustive list) recommending this provision. If you have already provided this information there is no need to re-submit.
Once we have received the relevant information, we ask that the ‘fiddle toys’ you provide are quiet, and don’t leave a residue on desks or books, cannot be pulled apart and shared. For example blu tac being sat on and sticking to students clothes.
We hope you understand why we have had to take this action.
