Bedminster Down School

Fruit Machine - Apprenticeship Challenge Day 4

Today was the big day. The BDS team loaded up the mini-bus and head down to the Harbourside Market to join the regular traders in feeding the workers of Bristol during their lunch-time. The “Merry Berry” stand was set up and decorated quickly ready for any potential customers.

Business started slowly with the team showing a few nerves but after the first couple of sales they soon got into the swing of things. Sorbet and Fruit Salad “Pick ‘n’ Mix” began flying off the shelves - so much so that the “Merry Berry” stall sold out of all its stock!

Bailey, Brook, Edith, Ella, Jack and Patrick all took to the task brilliantly and were a credit to the school – selling and serving prodigiously whilst chatting with customers, judges, BBC Bristol reporters and camera crews alike. A mention also must also go out to the Henbury and Cotham Schools who were also fantastic.

At the end of the lunch rush a tired but satisfied team broke down the stall and returned to school. Now they will have to wait till next week where they will return to the boardroom for the final results…. Stay tuned.
