Move It Dance Trip
On Friday 10th March 19 year 8 and 9 dancers travelled to London to spend a day full of dance at the Move It event. We saw lots of professional dancers, companies and colleges perform on the main stage and talked to them at their stands, shopped for dance clothing, footwear and accessories, took part in free taster sessions, tried fitness classes such as Bounce fit on mini trampolines
Millie, Maia & Amy
and took part in dance classes.
Some of the girls took part in a very popular hip hop contemporary class and a SOSA dance fitness class where Molly Clements won a prize for being amazing. Well Done Molly!
Millie Sellick, Maia Fortt and Amy Rowe took part in Kymberley Wyatt’s (Pussycat Dolls and Got to Dance judge) class and learned a contemporary routine to Human by Rag n Bone Man.
Grace Rowles, Anna Sledge, Mel Potter, Millie Sellick, Maia Fortt and Miss Cook all learnt another contemporary sequence choreographed and taught by Lukas McFarlane (Got to Dance one sock man) to
Love me now by John Legend.
Human and Love me now will both be performed in Bedminster Down School’s dance and gymnastics show on Thursday 23rd March at 6.30pm.
Whilst on the way home, travelling through London we were even able to do a spot of sightseeing as we saw Big Ben, Houses of Parliament and the London Eye all from the bus. A fantastic day of dance was had by all.
